Hi! My name is Hibah Javed and I am a research technologist here at the Ahmed Lab. I received my Bachelor of Science in biology in 2021 and then started a graduate program at the UW Information School. Before coming to the Ahmed lab, my research was primarily focused around virology, microbiology, and proteomics. With regards to proteomics, I coauthored a scientific publication that centered around creating a customized program to identify protein sequence motifs. My senior research project was a continuation of studying the abundance of Desulfovibrio vulgaris and Methanococcus maripaludis bacteria. Currently, I am interested in gaining a better understanding of neuroscience and psychology. Outside of lab I love to teach, paint, and explore beaches nearby!!
